I believe due to the size of popularity for this game in society that the ANWA forums require a Pokemon X & Y General Discussion thread to discuss all thing X & Y. I hope ANWA consists of several players of this game as you can never have too many X & Y buddies to discuss, trade and battle with. For those who are unaware this Pokemon game was the largest step in the series since probably the release of the first gen games back in 1996. Unfortunately due to my time management skills I've been unable to complete the game thus far, however I continuously crave a short play of the game or even just a few Wonder Trades.

Sadly despite all my experience with Nintendo hardware and games over the years, I have yet to play a Pokemon game. Is it too late to start? I know ANWA-Black Mamba loves it!

I personally believe it isn't too late to join the Pokémon craze. I would recommend starting with either Pokémon X & Y or Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver if you were to have a shot at getting into it. SoulSilver/HeartGold is a remake of the second gen Pokémon games on DS and I'd imagine would be dirt cheap by now.

If you're considering starting I'd definitely recommend HeartGold/SoulSiver. I used to love the Pokemon series but could never keep up with how often new Pokemon were being created, and I felt as if the quality dropped. I recently got back into it a little and picked up where I left off, Pokemon Platinum. I've finished it now and am looking to play on, but my personal favourite game from the series has always been Pokemon Gold and so to be able to play the remade version is too hard to resist. I suppose once I get a little more time on my hands and finish HeartGold I'll try to rekindle my love for the series!

My Son plays Pokémon games all the time, can't get into it myself to many years playing YuGiOh instead.

It seems HeartGold and SoulSilver have increased in value. People are selling their copies (sometimes new, sometimes used) for well and truly over $100 (even $200).EBGames is even selling used copies for $50+. I've been searching the internet like crazy for a copy lately (as I never picked this game up) and not a single store has a new copy left. This morning I jumped on a sale of a used HeartGold copy for only $27. The list had been on eBay for less than 10 hours and I doubt it would of stayed up for another day at that price. Very happy with my purchase.

Ah I feel like an oldie now. I am still playing Leaf Green and Emerald on the original GBA Cartridge in a Gameboy Micro/DS Lite. I personally prefer the GBA versions, so I've just stuck to them. Most namely, Emerald is the one I love to play, but still have never had the patience to beat the battle frontier as I always feel like starting again with a different starter after so long. On that note, I do have Pokemon Diamond on DS, and I may have another of the DS ones...just can't remember, will have to go for a dig sometime! But anyway, I don't really touch the DS ones at all. I've never been able to keep up with the releases of all the games either. So just looks like Leaf and Emerald for me! cheers dad2

I wonder what all the old cartridges from GB & GBA are now worth online... Might go check out Ebay then raid my sons forgotten box of ancient pokemon games. Or maybe I should just start selling my Rare YuGiOh! cards instead. I have all 5 pieces of Xodia the forbidden One from the set LOB. It's valued at $220.00 US for 5 playing cards.

I would be interesting to see. GBA prices were in decline since the gameboy lost quite a bit of relevance after the DS and it's games hit the stores. I'm sure in a few years time, people will want to play what is "old" therefore "cool" if you know what I mean. So just got to wait for that to happen, and then see what the GBA cartridges go for! (not that I'd ever sell my GBA pokemon cartridges!).

I think you should check out Ebay, ignore everything that's for sale just look at the bidding items. Some of them go right off bid war wise when they reach the last hour it's fun to watch sometimes.
